CV help, no experience or use my ex as a reference?

While I was at college I ended up agreeing to take a job from my kind of boyfriend, because he was short staffed I helped and ended up working there permanently. It ended badly and I left. It's 2 and a half years since I left college and mostly the only job I've had, I have had a baby with my current dp since then.

It didn't end well and the relationship was awful.

I can be honest, I can pretend I have no work experience and rely on my good grades :/ I can offer the reference and hope he remains professional.

Any advice please? I'd really like to go back to work part time and I've seen a job and the experience is very relevant.

Hmm, tricky. Anyone else work there that could be a referee for you? Or could you put him down as a reference and also be clear about the situation to the people you're applying with?

Can you do some volunteering work to build up some current experience and contacts for future jobs? It might not help for the job that you are now applying for but will for future jobs.

Also check out the guardian careers website for further information.

Don't feel you have to rely on him to be your reference, it was a couple of years ago now anyway, Maybe use an academic reference?? Is the work experience vital to jobs you are applying for now?
