Product Liability insurance for Home Crafters

Does any one sell home made crafts online? My wife set up her own business making costume jewellery just over two years ago.

She has run into a problem that her current product liability insurer (IWW) no longer covers her as she sells to the US/Canada.

We had a couple of quotes from another insurer but that was £1000 for global, or £370 excluding US/Canada. Previously her insurance was £70! £1000 would certainly wipe out her entire profit.

So has anyone else found that their insurance has suddenly gone up in price or are using a different insurance company that does cover US/Canada?

Also, has anyone heard of any cases where people have been sued from the US for craft products made and sold in the UK?

try the NMTF or the FSB or Towergate

Not in the craft business, but insurance companies do tend to exclude/charge higher premiums for the USA/Canada because of the higher risk of litigation.
Towergate were in financial difficulty a while ago.
