I word full time. 2 small kids ( primary). The job came up 0.6. I liked the sound of it but prefer full time. My thought s - if I get 0.6, then i can look for opportunities to extend... would this be a realistic thought? I work full time atm.

Not at all possible for anyone on here to know whether there is likely to be scope to increase your hours. I certainly wouldn't rely on it, so if 0.6 isn't doable for you financially, don't go for it.

What is 0.6?

3 days a week or equivalent hours, Nolim.

I work 3 days a week and it is wondrous. I do a wee bit of overtime here and there but it's a great work/life balance

Ok thanks.

If you work in an area where part-time working is common, would it be possible to find another job to fit? Lots of people with small kids want to do 0.6, so you doing 0.4 could work as someone's job share.

But do your budget based on 0.6. Remember you would have fewer childcare costs and more time to batch cook / switch utilities / otherwise save a bit of money.
