Maternity policy changed - does it apply to me?

When I went on maternity leave in June the policy was six weeks' full pay then SMP. They've just changed it to three months' full pay then smp which obviously makes quite a difference! As I'm still on leave does this new policy apply to me or have i just missed the boat?

I doubt they'd backdate it. There may also be new preconditions to the extra payment.

Ah what bad luck! I suspect not but it's always worth calling ACAS to be sure.

No it's the policy that was in place when you went on maternity so unless they are feeling generous they don't have to honour the new policy I'm afraid!

Although on the other hand there's probably a clause saying I have to go back for a certain amount of time and as they've refused my flexible working request I may not be... Every cloud..!
