Excellent timing. You'll feel great getting up for work tomorrow and putting on your WHITE coat. (oh well, at least you are phlebotomist. Bit coals to newcastle though.)

Glad you are feeling better

Orlando · 20/10/2006 16:32

nailpolish · 20/10/2006 16:52

thanks lanismum

i dont know the procedure re agency but ive contacted all the phleb bank staff (all 10 of them!)

OP posts:
Orlando · 20/10/2006 16:54

Write for a well known publisher of that sort of fiction. You know the one

Good suggestion lanismum. Any emails yet np?

lanismum · 20/10/2006 16:54

when i used to do agency it was through nhs professionals, maybe they would be able to help?
as a last resort, will any of the patients have cannulas in that you can get the drs to bleed them from if you get too bogged down?

nailpolish · 20/10/2006 16:59

i hink there is a policy about agencies in the hospital, ie dont use them

if i am short i will either ask the drs to prioritise or um em erm

just do what i have time for

we start at 7 and all the bloods have to be in the labs by 1030

so by 1030 i would just stop and give all the requests to the dr wiht an apology and he would have to do them, dep on the labs i suppose

and lanismum we NEVER take blood through cannulae NEVER EVER!

nailpolish · 20/10/2006 17:00

OH and 1 person has volunteered so i just need 3 now

OP posts:
lanismum · 20/10/2006 17:02

oh good, glad someone has come forward for you, i suppose its different with children, they very often had their blood taken through a cannula, depending on what else it was needed for, was always a good was of skiving

nailpolish · 20/10/2006 17:27

i know what you mean , cannulae are great as last resort,
