Refused promotion

Hello everyone!

So I have been refused a promotion at work because of my flexible working due to the care of my child. Unfortunatly I can't go to my hr or line manager as they are all very close knit. I know also that the interview was purely for show due to one other applicant being favoured and fed answers in interview. I don't mean to sound big headed but I have been in retail for more than 10years, been in many roles and with my current company 2 1/2 years. And have proved myself on more than one occasion. I wanted to know is there any help out there that can help me argue this.
Thanks!

Are you able to fill the advertised hours?

MagpieCursedTea · 31/01/2015 21:06

Did they actually state your flexible working as the reason you didn't get the job?

MrsPearce2015 · 31/01/2015 22:09

Yes these are hours I am fulfilling already. Just my title and pay would change. And yes this was the reason.

You need to speak to your line manager and HR. They won't be as close as you think and will have the best policy and practises in mind.

How do you know the other candidate was fed answers?
