Hi there - just that really. I am looking for a simple, free web app / open source online project management tool. Anyone used anything good?

thanks!

There is one called Open Project I think

Not sure exactly what you're looking for, I assume Gantt charts will feature at some point :)

Asana is worth looking at (I hope this link will work).

Zoho is free for a single project.

[[https://trello.com/ Trello] is my favourite - not traditional project management software, it's aligned more with Agile but works very well.

Trello link again.

Thanks Tripbot - it's essentially something I can learn fast so I can fake make my way around a Gantt chart!

This'll convert your Trello board or Google calendar into a Gantt chart: www.gantt-chart.com/

TBH if you're new to managing projects, Trello is probably the best thing IMO - it gets stuff up there and visible and is easy to use.

Sounds like you're being asked to show a project plan/Gantt chart? There are a few tools that you can use to create a Gantt chart, Gantter is one, there are others (inc just laying it all out in a spreadsheet to show dates etc!). I find them a bit fiddly but then I'm not a project manager.

Another vote for trello here. Wonderful tool. I even use it for personal projects (tragic!) Grin

I use it to manage my knitting MrsTuppence Grin (as well as work things).

It sounds like Trello is ideal. I am going for a job that's a step up for me and I need to be able to show some PM skills for it.
