Urgent - does anyone know an emergency nanny service?

A friend has been rushed into hospital for potentially prolonged treatment and she needs an emergency nanny. She's in the East Sussex area. Anyone know of any agencies that do this sort of thing? Thanks in advance. Justine.

Justine
I think most agencies will find you an emergency nanny - often they will be someone on their books waiting for a permanent job. Unfotunately I live in Kent as the agency I use is fabulous - but if she is really really stuck she may just want to try there. It is called nannylink and has a website - www.nannylink.co.uk

The lady who runs it is called Margaret. You may just strike lucky and find she has someone on her books on the Kent/Sussex border.

I hope everything works out and that you friend is OK.

Also try Tinies, we've used them when our nanny was ill. I think they are a national franchise so expect there is one in Sussex.

I have a problem with a nanny agency I just registered with. They randomly sent me a weekly fee of £20 (they say discounted from £65 - the cheek')! ld also I paid their annual £150 fee for their babysitting service and I mentioend from the start that I would also need two mornings/afternoons. They never mentioned this weekly fee - they only sent me their T&Cs after I complained about the weekly fee. I was ill with nasty flu when they sent the daytime help - I feel they saw me vulnerable and are trying to take advantage of the situation as I seemed desperate. Their argument is that £150 only covers evening babysitting service. Anyone have experience of dealing with a situation like this? Thanks
