My current job is looking really ropey right now and I've been looking into trying to start some freelancing work.

I have searched online and signed up to Elance but there seems to be so much conflicting information online on how best to start up.

I would really appreciate any advice from anyone who has done this type of freelancing work and how they went about starting up.

Thanks in advance.

Hello!

What is your background? Are you a qualified Accountant or Bookkeeper?
I set up my own Payroll Bureau after my eldest was born and haven't looked back. It's hard work but so rewarding.
Here's my story:

I hope that's useful. If you have any questions, please feel free to DM. Smile

I sort of fell into being freelance by accident. I had been a SAHM for several years, money was getting tight and then, out of the blue, a friend said to me "You don't know anyone who can do a bit of book-keeping do you"?
