Do I need to tick the disability box?

Over the last few months I have been diagnosed with bi polar affective disorder and borderline personality disorder. This is all very new, but it's well managed with therapy and a concoction of medication prescribed by a psychiatrist.

I'm looking to change jobs, and one I really want has a disability question on the final page, where you need to tick to say if you have a physical of mental disability. I don't know whether I do or not, and I'm not sure what happens if I tick the box, or if I don't. It's school based, so I'm pretty sure I would need an occupational health disclosure as part of the application.

Does anyone have an advice about this, and whether I need to tick yes of no? Thanks.

like you i have bi-polar and if i was in your position i would tick 'yes' because if a potential employer asked to see medicial records for any reason it might go against you although it shouldn't really, another thing to consider, is while you are getting stablised with your meds, some times they don't always work as well as they should esp. when you first start, so you might need time off work, an employer will be more understanding if you call in and they know about the condition. hope it all works out for you, good luck.
