Can my employer pay holiday pay on top on smp or does it have to be paid before or after maternity leave?

You're either on maternity leave earning maternity pay or you're on holiday earning normal money, you can't be doing both at the same time.

The only exception is bank holidays, I accrued them as additional hiliday but my friend was paid her standard daily rate as they occurred.

There is no exception for bank holidays. Bank holidays are no different to normal holidays.

OP you have to physically take your holidays, unless you are leaving employment. Don't think of it as holiday pay, think of it as holiday that needs to be taken.

That's exactly what I thought. My employer has said she can pay my holiday pay when it suits her (which is fine by me being after my smp runs out) but I have asked to be on leave for the full year start of januray til next year and she says she will be paying holiday now and again throughout my maternity leave. I'm confused. Confused
