Oh, congratulations, I think a dress and a jacket always looks nice. I've got an assessment day and interview coming up too. I'm thinking a smart dress, sensible heels and a suit jacket , although I'm thinking I maybe should invest in a good trouser suit because I potentially have a few interviews coming up.

BigOle - thanks! Smile I know for the first interview a jacket and skirt will be a must-do.

for the second I can do a dress and jacket. I'm just panicking now if the jacket isn't smart enough and if not can I buy a new one?!

some offices (legal even) can be snobby about trouser suits, believe it or not.

Ooh, I didn't know that. I did work for a law firm when I first left uni and it was a no no to wear sandals. Better steer clear of trouser suit then. I bought a lovely second hand suit jacket from a posh charity shop for a tenner. Might be worth having a mooch ?

Bigole - I think it's an outdated notion in most places but when I've been to a few law firm agencies recently and I mentioned a trouser suit, I got a "hmmmm, weeelllll" from the recruiter so I just thought play it safe!

I've now also possibly got 2 other interviews as well as this one!

Yes I will look in charity shops, I'm in a naice part of town.

Good luck with your interview and assessment day too. Smile
