Pt request

I requested part time when I return from mat leave early next year.

I put the request in in late August, had a meeting mid September, they didn't give any clues as to what they are thinking, just told me to await a formal response.

I emailed 2 weeks ago just to ask what time scale we are looking at regarding giving me a decision. I want to get my baby being used to being apart for whatever length of time they agree to, and try to build some sort of routine so it isn't a shock when I leave him.

I got a reply to my email a week later "I will get the decision sent to you shortly"

Still waiting.

I know they have 3 months to make contact, but they have clearly decided, why not just bloody tell me?!

Anybody else's employer drag their heels like this?!

Employers have up to 3 months to respond to a flexible working request, but this also includes the appeal stage (if they have one).
There isn't really anything you can do except wait until the deadline for them to respond.I know it's annoying and frustrating.

They are probably trying to work out the logisitics of your request. If they are a good employer, they willl want to get it right so maybe it's better that they take their time (although an idea of time would help!)

Good luck!
