i am so p'd off about it. i was totally psyched up for the interview. Ds's nursery phoned today and said they are excluding him for at last 48 hours as he has conjunctivitis. It is for an internal post so that makes the rescheduling slightly easier and I probably could make some highly complex arrangements which would involve taking ds with me, getting a colleague to entertain him etc. But i really cant be arsed with dragging a toddler through from glasgow on two trains to edinburgh and calling in favours from colleagues. i think i am just going to admit that i have dropped one of the balls. being a working parent is just bloody impossible sometimes. at least i've enjoyed my moan

Do you have a partner?

Can't he look after DS?

vitomum · 02/10/2006 18:16

DP can't get out of his work tomorrow as he works short term contracts with theatre companies and it is something of vital importance (to them) tomorrow. I figured that my interview can be rescheduled, even though it may look bad, incovenience people etc etc, but the repurcussions of dp taking a day of tomorrow would probably be greater.

Isn't there any way you can use an agency? I have used super nanny once before and they were great. They come to the house for a minimum of three hours at 7.90 per hour. I don't know how much notice they need but I have an impression that they are there for emergencies. This is probably too late anyway as you will have let them know.

actually rookiemum i hadn't thought of that and i have not let them know that i can't attend the interview yet either. might get the yellow pages out and see what's on offer - thanks

How did it go!!!

My sister got an agency nanny for 2 days recently when her son was ill. She called them on the Saturday I think and got someone on the Monday.
