I am in the process of setting up my own transcription company. I have the relevant equipment and am in the process of setting up a website, now I just need some work. Unfortunately most of the jobs advertised online seem to be scams and jobs listed on People Per Hour are receiving bids that are ridiculously low from overseas. Any ideas on a good way to get the ball rolling?

try the market research companies. you could probably get a list of them from the market research society. i used to be a market researcher (pre kids) and we regularly used transcribers to transcribe the focus groups or interviews. should pay £1 a minute of audio. good luck
