DP is starting his own kitchen and bathroom fitting business and we need a name.
So far there suggestions have been...

Perfect Fit,
Kitchen Caboodle (DP thinks it twee)
Counter Culture
The Cabinet Minister
Counter Productive (my jokey one)

We are totally stuck and need to have a name by tomorrow.

Any help is gratefully appreciated.

The perfect fit

Now you're cooking.
Through the plughole.

Clarabumps · 24/09/2014 22:52

Great, I'm adding that to the list.
I fear it's going to be a long night...

Heart of the Home
The Kitchen Cabinet

Does it have to be witty?

Can you pick, say, your two grans' maiden names - Ford Brewster Kitchen and Bathroom etc?

BobPatandIgglePiggle · 24/09/2014 22:53

I would just go with his name and title tbh. So

Joe Bloggs: kitchen and bathroom fitting specialist

Or something. Boring but I hate seeing companies with fancy names but no indication of what they do.

Finest Fit
Beautiful Homes
Fit for Living
Well Fit

I was trying to avoid a vague name as i like to know what someone does. I also think a witty name, you always remember. BUT it's late in the day and I can see up probably going for DP Kitchen Installations ltd.

I like Well Fit as it makes me chuckle but DP thinks it's a bit laddish.
haha!

There's someone around these parts whose business is called Pulling Power.

How about Aspen/Anenome/Alligator Kitchen and Bathrooms?

(Ie some nature themed word beginning with an A)

YonicScrewdriver · 24/09/2014 23:04

Whatever you pick, you should check there's a website available with a relevant name. Which there won't be for well fit!

I used to be a marketing manager... definitely go for something simple. Witty is great and everything but when it comes to kitchen fitting etc people don't want witty - they want to know it's a good solid service with a name that is accountable. Just go for your dps name and kitchens or something like that.

If you were designing / making the kitchens themselves I'd go for something witty possibly as you are looking to offer something potentially better / different / more luxurious etc. So witty makes people think ooooo wow.

But witty doesn't generally work for a trade where the work itself is the respected standard. Your name IS your brand in that respect. Not the product. So make the company name your name.

Also always good to have kitchens and bathrooms in there for googling / yell.com searching. If it's something obscure no one will find you.

We Fit

Maybe the name should reflect the style of kitchens and bathrooms he specialises in?

So if his USP is "heritage" or handcrafted, go for a traditional, double-barrelled type of name.

If he is modern and minimalist, go for something cool and funky (think "Apple").

Witty names would attract the younger customer but might not appeal so much to older people who might not trust the name....

(sorry, not given you any answers.....)

Clarabumps · 24/09/2014 23:11

Thank you for all your sound advice. I'm off to discuss further but I think we'll be going for DP Kitchen Installations LTD. You are right, we should just stick to something simple as, although he is exceptional Grin as a joiner the service he is providing isn't going to be unique. That makes sense.

Phew!

Thanks for your help, you've made this a lot easier.
