How long are interviews on average meant to last?

Yes, I know it's like asking how long is a piece of string but I've been told to arrive to my interview 15 minutes before hand and that it will be interview only but I can't help wondering whether there is a surprise element to it. Perhaps I need to prepare for a role play 15 minutes before?

The role is at a college. I've not been asked to teach.

I find interviews take 25-30 minutes answering 5 questions.

If your role involves children you may be asked to provide documentation which they will take a copy of hence turning up 15 minutes earlier.

Thanks Eltish. The 15 minute bit would make sense. Hmm, they are going to ask me loads of questions that seems!

I've had interviews up to 2 hours before
Depends on the job and the company.
They should tell you what to prepare for if they have something in mind. If the job requires you to present with no notice, then they might throw a few things at you.
It's about seeing who you are, whether you're suitable, whether you have the skills and would fit in
