Book keeping course?

My husband started his own company this year. It's fairly small however he has not been keeping the finances organised and I'm considering taking a course on book keeping to help him out.

I know there are paid courses online however just wondering if anyone has had any experience of using someone like Business Gateway which is goverment funded and free?

Local colleges often run book-keeping courses and the govt. funded ones are good too.

Make sure that it is one aimed at book-keeping for people running their own small business though, as otherwise the course may not be relevant for what you need.

Courses for using Sage accounts software, for instance, teach you how to use the software package but tend to expect that you already know how to do book-keeping manually.
