School nurse advice

I'm a paediatric nurse with a dilemma!! I currently work one night shift a week. This works brilliantly around my 2 dc (aged 9 and 4) but its bit average from my point of view. The ward is badly managed and poorly staffed and I just don't know if I can face another winter.
I've seen a school nurse job advertised, 22hrs a week, Monday to Friday, potential for some evening work/meetings etc, and its term time only.
I don't know if I will be making my life easier or harder by applying, than it is currently.
At the moment I get to take and collect my children from school every day and have never yet missed an assembly or sports day. But I do have to work weekends/bank hols/Christmas etc, although admittedly only to the point of 15hrs per week.
I would love advice from any school nurses. What is the job like? How does it compare to ward work and is it worth disrupting the well run machine that is currently my life?! Thanks.
