nhs pay period question

r2d2ismyidealman · 30/08/2014 12:53

In the nhs we get paid on the 24th and I presume this is drawn up a week or two in advance. If I stopped work on the last day of June, having been paid on June 24th, would I expect a part month payment in July or a full month payment in July followed by a part month payment in august?

Yes do check.

Just for context, anywhere I've worked, I've been paid for the month we're in, if that makes sense. So in your situation pay received on 24th of June would be for June, and those leaving at the end of that month wouldn't receive anything in July.

But I've never worked in the NHS so that's not to say that would apply for you obviously. Your employment contract should have that information though.

Every nhs trust is different. We get paid on the last day of every month and the pay is for that month. However if we have overtime or public holidays they get paid the following month.

Hm. I'd naively hoped for a clear consensus but can see I'm going to have to ring. I'm loathe to but think I've been overpaid. Damn.

Doesn't your contract specify?
