Help for part time worker

Will try to cut a long story short.

Have worked shifts in a team for 8 years. 5 years ago I had a flexible working request accepted meaning I have the same 2 days off a week. I job share with someone so we each cover the others set 2 days off so no hassle to anyone else in the team.

Fast forward to a new roster being brought in and now being told I have to work more weekends than the full time staff. I only work 24 hours a week but 3 out of 4 weekends are now 12hour work for me and only 2 out of 3 for full time staff.

When I asked why this was as I have always worked 2 weekends on and 2 off the same as everyone else I have been told well we are keeping your set days so you have what you want.

I feel the agreement was in place for 5 years and I am coming back now from maternity leave and being given a roster meaning I get only 4 days off a month with my family. I cut my hours to be with them more.

I don't mind doing the same amount of weekends but grudge doing more than full time staff.

Would this be considered as treating part time staff less fabourably than full time?

Thanks

I would go speak to hr, or contact your union and if your not in one join one ASAP. Parents can request flexible working hours although company's don't have to agree, it's its important for your work life balance as if you'll have childcare issues on weekends you can raise all these issues with your employer. I don't think 2 on and 2 off is unreasonable. Don't sign anything or agree to anything. Just try and stay as calm and nice as you can.
Hope you can get it all sorted. Especially if you've just come back from maternity they will have to give good reasons to making you change your hours.
