After plodding along happily in my job for 13 years, turning down all opportunities for promotion until now, ive been "encouraged" to apply for promotion again.
Im in a better position homewise, its a job share, part time (not sure of the hours yet) and would mean a bit of a challenge.
Its not something that i could do half hearted, i would have to commit to it 100%.
Ive got several concerns all focussing around my ds.
What do you think? Should i or shouldnt i?????

They obviously think you can do it or they would not be encouraging you, so on that basis it sounds good. I don't know enough about your ds and your circumstances to take him into account - what are your concerns?

Putting him in more childcare mainly.
I have always put him in play school for him not because i need to for work, i will have to put him in more if i go for the job IYSWIM.
He is 3 and this is his last year before he starts big school and he is ready for more, im uncomfortable with the thought of him bieng away from me.
Im quite happy with floating in and out of work as and when i request to work, 2 days a week.
This job will mean working the same days every week which will make it easier to organise childcare but seems so inflexable some how.
Its routine though isnt it, he is old enough to benefit from that now i suppose.

I completely respect your reasons but wouldn't have thought that you working 3 (?) days a week would make things too difficult for him. I'm guessing that part of your hesitation is around how you feel about working 3 (?) fixed days and having more to do, it may sound more challenging than what you are doing at the moment.

At this stage I would say go for it and see what happens. If it's meant to be.... and hey, we'll all help you with that suit and interview stuff

hm, you are right thanks.
It is only 3 days or so but i will miss him terribly and of course as always i feel so so guilty.
Its time to be me again, to put on my posh suit and do what im good at and thats my job.
thanks
