Sole Trader Registration

I'm sorry if this is a silly question, but I actually can't find the link on the HMRC website.

Where exactly does one go to register as a sole trader?

Quick history, my company was bought out and I've changed from being an employee to a contractor and as such have to invoice my company (now client) for commissions.

A sole trader would use Self Assessment.

Though that may not be your best option, Ltd Company may be appropriate.

I think someone has mentioned about being a contractor on here before and being a Ltd company. This thread gives some info about IR35.
And this one about becoming a Ltd company.
