Selling products into the USA from UK/Europe - anyone done it?

I have had an idea about selling a product that is available in the UK currently (rrp about £60). I have not idea on what this means but thought that maybe some mumsnetters have sold stuff to the US market - do you have any tips?

Quite a few people do it on ebay. Buy stuff from M and S in the sales and flog it to the states.

I suppose eBAY would be a good way to test out the market. I am thinking more of a business set up.
