Do I have to be in the UK if I am on (unpaid) sick leave (depression)?

As I had not been with my company for more that 12 months when I got ill - I only received 4 weeks sick pay - so as I am still ill I do not get paid by my company and will not claim SSP. Do I have to be in the UK?

No you don't have to be in the UK.

SSP isn't something you specifically claim, your employer will pay it to you. You don't specifically need to be in the UK as long as whatever you are doing isn't inconsistent with you not being fit to do whatever your job is.
