Need some advice please!

I have just finished a postgraduate degree. I am also 25 weeks pregnant. I haven't applied for any jobs in the area I have just trained in as I realise that I would need to go on mat. leave in about 2.5 months. But I can't get work ANYWHERE! I have applied for temp jobs, tried signing up for temp agencies etc. but as soon as I drop the 'p' word (something I think I legally have to at this stage and would also be pretty hard to hide) they are totally not interested.
I am also not entitled to any benefits or child support etc as DP's earnings are too high. I appreciate that I'm in a lucky position that he is earning and can support us both, but I had wanted to work for a couple of months before the baby comes and save a bit, I'm not used to being looked after.

Any advice? Any pregnancy-friendly temp places that people know of?

If you don't need the cash, how about unpaid work experience until after you've had your baby? They may be reluctant to give you a job as you'll need time off in a few weeks, so they may think it's not worth it.

That is an option...and although we're not desperate for the cash, any extra money would be nice as babies are so expensive. Plus I want to feel like I've contributed.

Speaking from an employers point of few, by the time they had trained you, you would be going on mat leave.

Keep with the agencies, perhaps ask if there any any short term temp jobs coming up that you could do for them.

I understand that, but I'm only applying for things that I have experience in. It's just frustrating being willing and desperate even to work but not being able!

I wouldn't bother looking for work if you are so close to maternity leave. Employers won't be interested as they know you will be leaving in a few weeks.
Wait until baby is older...

Did you do any demonstrating / tutoring / marking / etc while you were a student? Or have you done any other work in the last year or so? If so, you might be entitled to (possibly a small amount of) MA.
