proposed redundancy - how to reach the 15th week before baby due

I noticed that in order to get SMP you have to have worked for the same employer for at least 26 weeks (I have) by the end of the "qualifying week" which is the 15th week before the week the baby is due. I am due to be made redundant in 30 days and am 7-8 weeks pregnant. Is there anything I can do to 'delay' the actual redundancy notice so that I am still employed by this magical 15th week and therefore qualiify for SMP?
My notice period will be 12 weeks so from my calculations there is a 2-week gap which would mean I wouldn't qualify.
Any advice most gratefully received!

Did your employer already know about your pregnancy when they started redundancy proceeding? I think you're a bit more protected than 'normal' employees once you're pregnant - but only if your employer has been informed.
