A friend has set up a business and needs to post goods but they can weigh up to a few kilos.

What's the best thing to do? Just pop down the post office or is there a better way?

Try the Parcel Hero website.

Not Royal Mail, sadly. I use myhermes.co.uk - I know people moan about Hermes, but you can't argue with their prices and how great their website is to use.

We had a problem with hermes recently but in the main they are good. I know some people use Collect Plus too.
Parcelforce ( at po or online) are good when you need 24 or 48 hour deliveries but only if goods make the price worthwhile - i think its about £16.50 for upto 10k at the mo.
I have used parcelforce via a discount site - parcel2go ( spelling might be wrong!) it's worth checking - sometimes they have good deals - but it's sometimes cheaper to use parcelforce themslves.
