I think a full time TA would work 30 hours a week

CharlesRyder · 25/06/2014 17:36

No, it is probably 37hrs.

That is MASSIVE pay for a TA!! Is it in an independent school?

CharlesRyder · 25/06/2014 17:37

Or 35 if they do not pay TAs for staff meetings.

Guilianna · 25/06/2014 17:39

It may look massive but it's pro rata for the hours, and likely for term-time too, may be a lot less when you look at actual monthly pay

LIZS · 25/06/2014 17:41

That is quiet substantial though . Agree FT is probably 35 and paid for about 42 weeks, termtime plus accrued leave (although you may get this spread over 12 months)

mummytime · 25/06/2014 17:42

It is probably a higher level TA post.

Skylander1 · 25/06/2014 17:44

It's specialised Ta role, you need other qualifications as well.
Thank you everyone

I want it! Where is it?? That's an NQT salary, I wonder if it is correct?

Frontier · 25/06/2014 17:45

to earn the ft wage you would have to work 38 hrs pw for 47(approx) weeks per year which is impossible.

The actual salary for the advertised job will be around 8k.

That said, 20k fte salary for a ta job is huge. What band is it? surely it must be a hlta ?

CharlesRyder · 25/06/2014 17:51

The point Guilianna is that TA pay is generally around 12-14k fte. So for 15hrs a week you would take home around £5k!

RaspberryLemonPavlova · 25/06/2014 18:03

That's HLTA level.

Very, very roughly, I think my friend's TA job is circa £19,000 ft, and as supply the same job works out as £10 something per hour.
