New job 24 weeks pregnant!

I was made redundant in April and strayed interviewing before I knew I was pregnant. After attending a couple of interviews I found out I was pregnant and then thought it best to give up the job search as I didn't hear back.

I got a call back a couple of weeks ago from one of these interviews as a more suitable position opened and they wanted to see me again.

They offered me the position today and I accepted. I start next week only by then I will be 24 weeks pregnant.

How do I go about telling them?

Also, I know I won't be entitled to SMP or MA is there something else I can claim when I do take time off?

You won't be entitled to SMP, but possibly MA - check on www.gov.uk

You have to inform them before 26 wks pg, so I would probably do it as soon as you start, so they can do the risk assessment etc for you. I would probably speak to your line manager when they do the induction - they would probably guess as soon as they saw you anyway, at that stage!!
