I admit I am completely stupid but blame baby brain. If I started mat leave on the 1st November and took 52 weeks off what date should I return? My work have said 30th October but isn't that a day early? I don't understand!

Its weeks vs years... 52 weeks = 364 days, but there are 365 days in year.

But... what about your accrued annual leave? Don't forget that.

That would be the day you stop receiving maternity pay, so technically you would start work the day after that. I think that's how it works anyway because mine started on a Sunday but finishes on a Saturday.

Ah thank you! That makes sense to me now. I am saving my accrued annual leave at the moment to shorten my weeks as they have turned me down for part time so have to go back for 3 months then leave!
