I really need advice. My birthday is next month and I'll be 35. I have 2 kids with the youngest having just started nursery. I do not have my own family in this country and would not have been able to afford childcare had I stayed in my job. Hubby is working and covering all bills and we only receive CB.
Because of previous situations with him before both of us do not have the best credit meaning we won't ever be able to afford to buy our own house even on the government assistance schemes. I need to be able to work as well to be able to clear our names. We don't have CCJ's or anything bad like that. But his money covers all the bills and kids after school activities. Nothing extra at the end of the month.
I am not from this country and when I finished school I started a part-time college course in Accounting. I did amazingly well my first year but had to drop out due to family finance as my parents had to pay for it and also my 7 siblings schooling. Since then I did various computer studies with the recent being 3 years ago but only realised now that I do not want that as a career. I love IT but genuinely do not want to code and do websites as a career.
I really really want to be an Accountant but I cannot afford to go to Uni not only financially but also time with the kids. I do feel however that I can still make a career out of my childhood dreams. My biggest issue is how do I get started.
I googled a few local Accountancy firms and want to "pester" them by requesting if not job shadowing or voluntary work but anything in the door that might enable me to study part-time whilst working as well. I genuinely would love to be able to one day own a house and not have big financial worries. I just have no idea how to do a cover letter that can be attached to my CV hoping for one of the firms to give me some experience.
I love numbers, Maths, accounting and I know I will be a success. Can anyone help me or advice me on what to do please?
Thanks
