Anyone recently transferred in civil service?

Just that really. Am having a nightmare trying to transfer area as new area over head count. Husband has new job so it's not like there is an alternative...any experience?

I'm a civil servant. Are you trying to move locations? Have you looked outside your current department?

I'm a cs too. Are you trying to stay in the same dept, or looking wider? Are you looking through CS Jobs or have you made any personal contacts?

Hi there trying to stay in same dept (dwp) moving 100 miles...am registered on CS jobs

In my dept these things mostly happen by personal contacts (though there is - of course - a detailed process and priority).

If the place you want to move to is at its head count limit can you explore other alternatives like doing your current job from the new location, or some other location's work from the new location?

Or look for another job in or outside the cs.
