Job interview next week! What to wear?

Wow, I've got a job interview next week! It's been a loooong time since I've had this sort of interview and I have nothing to wear. (And no money right now - hence the job )

Is it ok to wear a knee length black skirt and knee high boots, with either a cream shirt or dark red top? Or do I have to wear a suit? I also have a pale blue jacket that I wore to a wedding a few years ago.

The job is for a scientific communications company - quite small but I guess quite upmarket.

What do people aged 31 wear to job interviews?? the last one I had I was 23 and wore a very short skirt cos I had nice legs!!

I would wear a suit -what size are you? I have some on sale - super cheap (as in boot sale prices - £3 for a suit from the likes of Laura Ashley and Next that no longer fit me - they are a size 14 and stunning)

In fact I bought recently the exact same suit but in my size for now as dd is 6 months and the baby weight is still lurking x

Size 14 would be way too big for me, which is a shame.

My husband has also voted for a suit, but does not want to fork out for one. Can't wait to have my own salary again.....

Any other opinions???
