I was on a course for managers, we were encouraged to talk freely etc. I was v honest in the meeting re little support and visibility from upper management. Anyway says he wants a chat today about general stuff but references this course I was on and says he wants to know how he could best support the team etc. he also mentioned he got wind I wasn't happy but also mentioned how it was perceived. This course was over 6 months ago and I can't remember what my issues were then and he couldn't give me any specifics re the feedback. How do I take this? Is my card marked??? I didn't deny it as there are LOTS of issues and how things were/are done. I was professional but only got to the tip of the iceberg with the half hour allotted to me. I am willing to tell him exactly what I think needs to be improved and give solutions but how he's behaving now goes against his ethos of having no time for complainers. I'm not aware he's having any 'chats' with any other folk and I can't help wonder if he has his eye on me for whatever good/bad reason that may be. My colleagues infer I'm q influential in dept and am the 'glue' but I don't mean to (other than when coaching employees). I'm keen for progression but not sure if this attention is good or bad????? Worried!
