How much do P/T staff get paid?

I am in the process of returning to work and I haven't worked for 15 years (!) I have had one interview and have one pending. The one I had was p/t admin office work - accounts, spreadsheets, wordprocessing. He asked me how much I was looking for and I said I had no idea what the going rate was. I am going back today for a computer test and he said he would make an offer based on that. What should I be looking for??

That would depend on the location and any expertise needed.

I would look in papers and online for similar roles to get an idea

There are not many jobs like this in my area typically only one in the paper per week if that so hard to compare

I would probably pay around £18k-£21k full time for this sort of work, so pro-rata that for the level of part-time (eg if 3 days/week, times by 3/5 to get an idea). Unless you are in the SE/London.

I think we pay admins about £10 /hour here in the Midlands.
