returning to work do i contact them?

Hi can anyone help me, my mat leave is due to finish on august 1st but ever since i left my boss has not contacted me not even to confurm when i changed my return date. I work shifts and im not sure if i need to contact them or to leave it up to them. Thanks

Hi, from memory (and it's been a while so may have changed), it is up to the employee to confirm in writing when they intend to return to work. I had to give 1 months notice. Is there a HR dept or can you drop your boss an email to let him/her know when you want to return? You may also be entitled to KIP days (paid 'keep in touch days') if you wanted to do a couple of days before you start back permanently, I found this helpful to get back into the swing of things.
