Formal offer pending

After number of years at home looking to go back out. Agent called to say firm would like to offer me - we've been discussing basic terms ie salary, number of days etc.
Will have a chat in next couple of days with person I'd be working for and I'd like to broach possibility of starting earlier and leaving earlier. Agent thinks this is a bad idea especially since they have conceded to a few of my requests. What do you think?

No definitely ask now, they can only say no. When I got my current job I asked for more money, earlier starts and to reduce from 5 days a week to 3. I also asked for home working. All the cards were on the table but because I was a strong candidate with great experience, I got everything. The result is they have an employee who really appreciates the flexibility and goes the extra mile.

I'd like to think they really want me but am stepping cautiously since I have been out for some time. will have a think about my approach.
