greviance meeting help?

Hi, I'm looking for some advice and little support if that's okay.
I sent in a greviance letter at the start of the week due to issues at work while I was pregnant such as, being asked to change appointments, not given time to attend antenatal, failure to let me know about smp. Health and safety.

I've been asked to attend a meeting but don't have anyone who can attend with me. I'm scared they will cover my managers actions and when I return to work I'll be bullied and treated unfairly for contacting HR about my concerns. Family have said I should get compensation due to causing sick leave and may have landed me in hospital. Really scared and nervous any advice or support is appreciated. Sorry for the long post.

Tia.

Ring www.workingfamilies.org.uk

They are fantastic for advice on these kinds of issues and have legal staff to help.

Theincidental: thank you. I have sent them an email, just worried about if they make me sound irrational due to my pregnancy.

Meeting tomorrow...nervous that I'll be made to look like a hormonal wreck. Any words of support please?

Really feel for you - try and get some sleep now. I assume you have all your notes with you for the meeting. Don't be afraid to say that you just want to check something in them if you need thinking time and ask for a break if you need to gather yourself together. Don't agree to anything at the meeting unless you're really happy with it. Make your own notes and at the end of each point, check your understanding of what has been said and write it down . At this late stage is there really no one who can go with you just to be a comforting presence? Good luck - let us know how you get on

Back from meeting with site director. I am been given all my holiday pay an apology from site director about the way my smp was handled and investigate all the other issues. [Grin]

Don't spend it all at once!

Won't planning on a little to get dh a fathers day gift as it looks like I'm being induced the Monday after or sometime during that week

Received the outcome letter. No minutes in letter nor an apology. They have said it's miscommunication issues with admin. That the manager "believed" that I had these days off, that I took it all in the wrong context. Looks like I won't receive a single sorry which is all I want.

What a shame ....but anyway , hope all goes well with birth and you can put this to one side

Geminiwitch22 · 01/06/2014 22:30

For now, I want to return next year... but that'll have to wait.
