I am due back at work in 3 weeks (after 2nd mat leave). My first KIT day is next Weds. I have been called for an interview for a role I'd love in another organisation on Monday. Timing is down to the wire...

But can you give me some tips to help me be single minded and ready for the interview and separate the KIT day/return to my old job. I am finding it really hard as I am being bombarded by calls and emails from my current work already and I really really need to concentrate on getting this new job to make me happier and home life better.

I am doing this around 2 kids getting settled into a new nursery too. No pressure!

Help!

I would email your current boss now telling him to stop the calls and emails to you now. The point of the kit day is for them to tell you what you need to know.

I would try to spend saturday or Sunday preparing for the interview - research company, sample answers to questions, focus on the job description /person spec making sure you have good answers and examples of how you have done/can show everything on the list.
Is there someone to take the children out to allow you to completely focus on this ?

Forget about the kit day and nursery settling - this will happen regardless of what you do. The interview is the only thing you have any control over.

Good luck !!
