...to format some documents?

It took me a couple of hours

Not my normal line of work, but something I can do easily, to a professional standard!

Thanks

Erm, what's the average wage these days? £8 odd for a professional per hr? total guess

So, my Comms manager who writes up other people's content earns £350 per day - if this is just formatting then for a project assistant I'd expect to pay £200 - £300 per day as a day rate.

That's private sector, blue chip company rates.

If you were temping you'd be earning, what, £15 per hour - add a margin of st least 20% if they had had to pay an agency plus another 20% on topic that for VAT. That's £22 per hour.

However, the wouldn't be able to get you for just 2 hours, they'd normally have to pay a whole day so you can charge a premium for that flexibility. So, what £50?

Of course that if it a company - if you're doing it for a friend or a charity then it'd be different.

Thanks Mum, very helpful. it is for a friend whom literally had no time to do it and I thought I'd charge £40, she is freelance too so it would just go against her tax anyway.Does that sound about right?
