I think you have to have worked a certain number of weeks in the period before the EDD to qualify. When are you due?

mid jan

You need to have been employed for 26 weeks continuously by the 15th week before your due date and to earn enough to qualify for SMP.

Earnings are assessed in the 8 week period from week 17 to week 25 of your pregnancy, so if you're working then and earn enough you should qualify.

surely I am employed by them, but I only get given hours jun-sept? I dont get a new contract each year.

Don't know, haven't seen your contract! I'm just setting out the rules for SMP in order that you can decide whether you feel you will qualify. Regardless of whether you are continuously employed, if you're not earning enough on average in that 8 week period, you won't qualify.

You may be able to get maternity allowance, but it depends on how many weeks you've worked. www.gov.uk/maternity-allowance It's a little different to maternity pay so you should have a look at the eligibility as you know your situation the best.
