Can you tell me how much a recruitment agency will charge me for using their services?

are you an applicant or after applications?

If it is applications you are after, depending on skills you are recrutiting about 15% - 20% of salary. Higher if it is search you need.

your joking....that works out at loads. I was just wondering whether I should use them in future or if it would be better to do my own advertising.

where do you want to advertise and what skills.

Advertising is not cheap, a 1/4 page ad in the times for example is about £30k and you need an agency to design it.

You could look at paying a nominal sum to someone like Monster.com to ger recruiter access to their CV database and search them yourself.
