Working from home - sewing, alterations

I have decided to discontinue working from home, I have had an abusive customer at my house, which really made me feel scared. Fortunately my daughter was at school at the time.
I was wondering if any others Mums work from home and have experienced any abuse from customers.
I have to put the safety of my family first above anything else.
I did contact the police, but the customer has now written to me basically criticising and demoralising me and asking for £240 compensation.
I have spoken to CAD and am now seeking advise from a solicitor.
It has really put me off working from home ever!
Has anyone else experienced any such behaviour.
Unfortunately it was a male customer.

Sorry you've been through this, I have no experience, but I wondered if you could go 'through' a local dry cleaners, interior designer, or wedding agency, rather than be your own 'shop front'?
