Any advice please?

I am currently on Mat Leave. I was under the impression I should be treated exactly as an employee as before, ie hols, benefits etc ... Is this correct?

Also, I know it sounds a bit naff but should I also be invited to socials, parties etc ... & also get the same benefits as before for example we get birthday/Xmas vouchers etc ....

You continue to accrue holiday and are entitled to contractual benefits as before.

There's no wrong or right about being invited to social events, but if you want to, ask.

In an ideal world, the being included in socials etc would have been agreed as part of a "keeping in touch plan" before you started your mat leave. However, starting from where you are, perhaps you could have a friendly chat with your manager, and ask for your email address to be added to any group emails about company news or activities? It's likely to be seen as a positive thing that you want to keep up to speed on what's happening for the company, and would be a way to also include yourself in any formal social plans.
