Had a thought on the train yesterday when I saw a couple of p/t jobs advertised.

People on here are always looking for p/t work, so why don't we all put any we see in local papers, online, national press etc on a thread for people to see. We could for eg have one thread per month, or one per county or something

What do you think?

The jobs I saw were Admin Assistant, West London and Desktop Publisher, City

A new website was set up recently aimed at exactly this i.e. working mothers who are looking for part time work. I can't for the life of me think what it's called now but will try and find out.

CountessDracula · 18/08/2006 12:15

All the same, we could have our own couldn't we?

aha, here you go working mums

katierocket · 18/08/2006 12:16

yes of course you can - just thought that site might be of interest

CountTo10 · 18/08/2006 12:17

here's the link

\link{http://www.mumandworking.co.uk}

not sure if that worked but its a directory of PT jobs as well as jobs that can be done from home that they've either tested themselves or other people have and put their reviews on

CountessDracula · 18/08/2006 12:18

If you look at it, they are about to start charging employers to register their jobs there! So I shouldn't think most of the jobs would even make it to the site.

Wouldn't this be a topic for the "Employ a Mumsnetter" setion?

Uwila · 18/08/2006 12:21

But, of course, it's very nice of you to think of those looking for work.

CountessDracula · 18/08/2006 12:22

I am always seeing threads for people looking for p/t work

that site is not great they have 6 jobs in the whole of London!

OP posts:
katierocket · 18/08/2006 12:35

yes I think the workingmums website is a good idea but they need to be a lot more content on it/. There are no jobs in the North West!

Uwila · 18/08/2006 12:44

I think the difficulty with doing this on mn is that the add gets posted in the form of a chat. It's a good idea though, CD, to use the resources of MN to communicate these jobs to people looking for them.

I wonder if there might be an opportunity for MN to raise more money by having an section that cahrged say £5 per add. And then they expired after a couple week or a month or whatever. But it would have to be ads you can scroll through and search for. Not a thread. There would obviously be some development involved. hmmm... maybe it wouldn't be feasible in terms of development costs...
