Hi
I am in the process of applying for a job and I am wondering how the references are checked these days....the employers ask for email, address, phone but which one will theyvactually use? One of my referees is not allowed using phone whilst at work abd the other is pretty unreliable always with phone switched off or no battery. They use mobile only.

Another question: the job is at school but the school didn't advertise on the council's website and pretty much said the position is mine. However they use the council's application form do I can't see how they are going to give ME the job if is the council who is processing it?

Also what kind of questions they ask, obviously character and practice, but are dates relevant too?

Who will check my references? School or Council?
I am sending the papers to the school not the council. And they say references will be checked before deciding if the next step (interview) will be taken.
