Any writers on this site?

I am writing a novel. I am trying to get it finished and published. I just wondered if anyone else here is writing, and if so, what, and have you had any success publishing?

I once tried a writer's website but some of the writers there were quite strange people, horror writers and the like, and I was put off posting! So I wonder if there are any other parents who are writing away once the children are in bed?

I write stories for children but nothing published yet - lots of stories started but not many finished! Have you got the Writers' and Artists' Yearbook? There is a new one out each year, plus one for childrens writers, and they have lots of useful information.

yes there are - and there's a creative writing section somewhere.

I've only just come across this thread. But I'd love to form some kind of online writing group, if only to kick me up the arse and get me going again.

What kind of novel are you writing?

Thanks for the replies! My novel is a romance. Boy meets girl, lots of adventures and problems, girl marries someone else, it goes wrong, boy and girl end up together at the end.

I wrote about 100 pages in 1997-8 and started writing again last year, I've nearly finished it but have decided to rewrite the first 100 pages, so I'm writing the end and the beginning at the same time now.

It's an adult book/young adult maybe/Christian fiction. I have an old Artists and Writers Yearbook, not a new one.
