I have been informed that I have approx 4 months.... If I get a new job in the next month or 2 will I forgo my redundancy payment?

Ha ha, the thread title stinks sorry folks. Take, as if jobs were fruit hanging from a tree, and all I have to do is reach out and take one (bitter)

I have a 3 month notice period anyway, pretty standard nowadays, a new employer would expect that.

My dh was made redundant a couple of years ago and his new employer was happy to wait as they realised he would lose redundancy pay, they didn't expect him to do that.

So if you get s job in the 3 months before your end date, you get your pay off?

No, I meant that a new employer would probably be happy to wait for you to be available.

If you go to www.gov.uk/redundancy they'll give you more advice about notice periods etc.

Good luck!

I hadn't thought of that.... Hopefully that will be the case. I am applying for part time jobs so if needs be I can do both simultaneously.

I'll check out the website too.
