Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ann xx

I've used www.mrsite.com, they are great £35 for everything - address, hosting and design wizard. I've never done anything like it before and have managed to create: www.usborne4u.co.uk, which i think does the job. I though £35 was a bargain!

Let me know what you think, gemma

Wow, your website's great Gemma. Did you not have a clue about web design before you set yours up? Was it easy? How long did it take? I havent got a clue where to start!! Sorry so many questions!! LMAO!! xx

I used moonfruits free website, really easy to design and add pages etc, you can link to the site from your registered URL. I registered with 123-reg.

Easy to chop and change and add pictures update stock etc, not so easy to link in shopping facilities unless you upgrade and pay or link in with another shopping basket site.

I do most of my selling on EBay in fact I now link straight to by ebay site direct from the home page as it is easier than people sending and oreder and the me sending and invoice and paypal details in an e.mail.

Really easy, no code or anything more like Desk top publisher. mine is www.sweetenoughonline.co.uk.
As it is free you can have a go then if you don't like it just dump it.

zippitippitoes · 10/08/2006 16:10

i keep trying to ask you skribble how do people find you online ie new people who don't know you exist?

nowamummy · 10/08/2006 17:10

oooooohhhh yeah zippitippitoes, I was wondering that aswell? x
Skribble - your site is lovely and if it was free then thats brilliant, you've done really well.

Hi, i'd never done anything, it took me a couple of weeks of a couple fo hours in the evenings, once you get started though i really enjoyed it - it's exciting (do i sound sad, lol) It's really straight forward, There's a forum where i found how to do the moving pictures and stuff, if i can do it anyone can. There's a free shopping basket facility and you can easily setup google adwords and stuff - i can't coz usborne don't allow it. That's a way of getting people to your site i think
Goodluck anyway and thanks for the compliments on the site

Skribble · 10/08/2006 20:28

Different ways of making people aware, I suppose thats where I haven't done enough, but you should put your website on all your literature and paperwork, make up business cards, tell everyone. I should put a card in every order I send out from Ebay but I haven't . Things like press releases donating prizes tolocal raffles etc. I do stalls at Christmas fairs and put a card in every bag.

Also getting all the right words in so that searches find you and then submitting your site to the search engines. On moonfruit it is easy to put words in and to get the right description to come up if you are found on a search engine.

Skribble · 10/08/2006 20:29

BTW I did most of my site in one night then fiddled with it for weeks after.

nowamummy · 11/08/2006 17:33

Yeah, think Im going to give it a go over the weekend if I get a minute or two!! Now all I need is a name!! IDEA'S WELCOME!! Will be selling childrens clothes xx

gemmum · 11/08/2006 19:52

nowamummy · 11/08/2006 20:39

Skribble · 11/08/2006 22:10

nowamummy · 12/08/2006 13:45
